5-Stage R.O. Filtration System

5. BIO NATURAL Minerals cartridge for remineralising the R.O purified water.

*Faucet:  Premium designer faucet for filtered water is included and usually mounted on the sink deck or countertop for dispensing the clean, filtered water from the filtered water outlet of the main R.O. unit.

Drain Saddle: Fits a standard 1.5” diameter drain pipe to drain the waste water from the drain outlet of the pump box.

Block carbon: The 2nd stage of filtration is a carbon block cartridge that is removing effectively chlorine, chloramines and improves taste and odor of the water.

R.O. membrane: The 3rd and main stage of the filtration is high-production R.O. membrane. It is “semi-permeable”, which means that it allows water to pass through but prevents dissolved particles from passing through. It splits the feed water into two streams: clean water goes to the post-filter and then onto the faucet. Waste water with rejected particles goes down the drain.

Post-carbon: The 4th stage of filtration is a granular carbon post-filter for fine conditioning and to keep the extra freshness of your water.

Mineralisation cartridge: This is the 5th and last filtration stage of the system. Many times there is the desire to raise the total dissolved solids (TDS) of our filtered water. This is due to the fact that the purified water produced by the reverse osmosis water systems have usually a TDS value of ~25-35 ppm. For the best drinking water quality and personal well-being it is recommended that the TDS value be around~80-150ppm. To try and achieve a TDS value to that range we use a mineralisation cartridge that is releasing natural minerals in the water.

Notice: The quality of the treated water depends on the pressure, contamination and temperature of the water to be treated. One important thing: the water purifier removes contaminants for approx. It filters out 95% of the water! It collects only a few percent of these contaminants, while flushing almost all of the contaminants back into the sewer system! This is the best working water purification method in the world today!

It is advisable to replace the 4 carbon cartridges (1st, 2nd, 4th & 5th) every 12 months depending from your water quality. The R.O membrane it is recommended to be replaced every 24 months.
